The iPod 32GB Touch – The Perfect Gift
The iPod 32GB Touch (3rd Generation) could just be the perfect gift this Christmas.
I wanted something portable that I could have my music with me at all times, but also have access to my email and the web, without having to lug around a laptop. While I can access the web on my cellphone, the screen is so tiny I have a very hard time seeing anything, plus the website doesn’t fit the screen so I only see the top left corner of the web page.
With the iPod 32gb Touch the 3.5″ screen is big enough I can actually read my email and the Safari web browser is great and you can resize the view by making a pinching motion with your fingers to expand or decrease the image size. The built in accelerometer allows it to detect when you rotate the iPod 32GB Touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display for you. This is a very cool feature.
With the browser and the built in Wi-fi 802.11b/g magically transforms your iPod Touch into a pocket computer making it great for the traveler who takes advantage of hotspots. Your iPod 32GB Touch even comes with Bluetooth support for using wireless headsets and for peer-to-peer gaming. The touch type keyboard is big enough my fat fingers can tap the right letter instead of hitting the wrong one or worse, multiple letters.
The 3rd Generation 32GB Touch offers a 50% increase in processing power over the 8GB model and the older 2nd generation models. This increase in speed is noticeable on boot-up and when playing games.
Of course you can still listen to music, watch movies, watch Youtube, TV shows, download videos, audio books, pod casts, and even photo slide shows. Along with a few new things like Voice control. The earplugs that come with your 32gb Touch have a built in mic that lets you control the playback features. You can say the name of a song, artist name, album or a playlist and it will play it. The Voice control also works with a Notes app that will let you record notes to yourself or a to-do list, or whatever you would like to record.

The only disappointments with the new 3rd Generation 3G 32GB Touch was still no external speaker, so you have to use headphones or ear plugs. The new Bluetooth feature is great for headphones, but I was hoping for Bluetooth to transfer files, so I wasn’t stuck with iTunes.
